In Rœulx, walking and running on September 11 to help young Kayna with cancer

Hél’aime is a young association from Roeulx that aims to organize and participate in actions aimed at raising funds to fight against all types of cancer. First act on September 11.

This association has eight active members, including an office of four people. Aude Legrand is its founding president. To those who may wonder about the name of this association, he explains: ” My sister, Hélène, died at the age of 42 from breast cancer. It is in her memory and to pay tribute to her fight against the disease that we have chosen the name Hel’aime. »

And as a first act, the association has planned to organize, in collaboration with the municipality, a race” nature in the village on Sunday, September 11. On the program: a walking tour and two races. Participants will be welcomed at 8:15 in the morning in front of the sports hall.

The Rœulx’Pos, a 5 km walking route along the road and slag, is open to everyone. The departure will be at 9:50 a.m. and the requested participation is €3.

The 5 km race, the Rœulx’Belle, is open to those aged 16 and over. Departure will be at 9:40 a.m. Participation is €5.

The 10 km race, the Rœulx’ Cord, is open to people aged 16 and over and will start at 9:30 a.m. for an entry fee of €8.

The money collected will be used to fight cancer and especially to help and improve the daily lives of people suffering from the disease. And more specifically for the benefit of Kayna, a 16-year-old girl suffering from Ewing’s sarcoma, a form of bone cancer that requires chemotherapy treatment provided by the Oscar-Lambret de Lille oncology center. “says Aude Legrand. In Lourches, Kayna’s mother is raising her three children alone and has had to quit her job to be able to look after and care for her daughter. She is a former colleague of Aude Legrand.
