Racing outside the stadium is the specialty of the athletes Sports adventure of Manneville (Eure), near Pont-Audemer. The coaches, Patrice Perrette and Christelle Coignard, meticulously prepare marathons, trails and even ultra-trails. Other disciplines are practiced by these “lovers” of running: triathlon, swimming race (mix of swimming and running), mountain bike or cycling.
Thus, the new president of the club, elected last June, Gilles Heran, and the vice president, Hervé Bacheley, intend to participate in their first swimrun. “On May 1, 2023, a race will take place in the Gorges du Verdon,” says Gilles Héran, who has just completed his first triathlon (M), that of Pont-L’Évêque (Calvados). A few months earlier, he had participated in the sprint event of the Pont-Audemer Triathlon. The collaboration with the Pont-Audemer triathlon club (PAT) seems to have convinced some adventurers to discover other disciplines! “The agreement between the two clubs allows triathletes to run on the track and Sport Aventure athletes to train in the water,” emphasizes Gilles Héran.
Several members prepare for their next one marathon : some will go to Bruges, others to Amsterdam, Deauville or even La Rochelle. Last season, the Sport Aventuriers had completed several short and long distances in France: Annecy, the beautiful escape in the Alps, etc. A few weeks ago, Thierry Triconnet completed a “mega ultra trail” of 365 km in Switzerland, in 151 hours, over six days.
“A family club”
The number of licensees is stable in the club (49 members last year). The leaders hope to have as many this season but are not looking to develop too much: “We are a family club. We regularly train together with the Campigny club (Campigny Running club). We welcome mainly adults”, explains Gilles Héran. A club that has a very good percentage of women.
The fair sex is in the new office, exclusively in the secretariat with Christine Leconte, supported by Laurence Héran. In addition to the arrival of her husband Gilles at the head of the club, Hervé Bacheley and Romuald Larchevêque are vice-presidents, Didier Canel is still treasurer and Arnaud Gilbert accompanies him. An office that also prepares the next Trail des Résistants, scheduled for Sunday January 29, 2023 in Manneville-sur-Risle. The distances and routes will be identical to the last trail at the beginning of the year.
Gilles Héran is a former footballer
The new president of Sport Aventure came to the club about ten years ago. “I dedicated myself to running after leaving football. I played for a long time at FC Val de Risle, playing mainly in the Promotion d’Honor. At 31, after a cruciate ligament tear, I had to stop. I first joined the Bipedes club in Bernay before arriving at Paac and then at Sport Aventure. For 5-6 years I also practiced karate,” he says. For three seasons, Gilles Héran was a member of the club’s office, during the presidency of Thierry Triconnet and after his predecessor, Richard Renaux.
